Where can I find the internal names for planets and trade resources? I can't find anything on the net. Really appreciate any help you can give.

All the internal names are listed in the XML. For trade resources, they're in improvementdefs.xml

You're looking for improvementdefs.xml. The trade resources are at the very bottom of the file.
