I've included a screenshot below. In the map editor from a top-down view the map looked very well aligned But in a 3D view it looks horrible and I cant seem to figure out why. Any help would be appreciated.
It could be one of two things.
A. You were zoomed out more in Galaxy Forge, so you didn't notice they weren't that well aligned, or
B. The Z coordinate of each planet is always picked at random, so perhaps that is throwing it off in game.
Stars are too close together.
I moved the stars further apart but nothing changed. I also don't see stars or planets represented by a Z coordinate in GalaxyForge, just x and y. It just really bugs me that all the other maps are flat, but mine won't seem to be.
Thanks though for the replies.
That's what I'm trying to say. There is no Z in the galaxy forge, the game just randomizes each planets Z position every time you load it. You can even start the same map twice and the Z positions won't be the same. Now I don't think that would affect a screenshot from top down, but you never know.
