32 Players on Large Map

Hardware Upgrade Questions

I made a large map and added 32 players. It would not load and crashed. I am however playing on a large map with 22 players and it runs great! I have a quad core with 8 GB DDR3 1333 MHz but only have an Nvidia 9800 graphics card. I intend to upgrade to a 550 Ti with 2 GB memory. I wonder if my graphics card is the bottleneck?

I am greatly looking forward to larger maps and playing with all the AIs included, my own custom factions forming teams of all sorts. Amazing replay potential!

Not sure the problem, I know I used to run into the same thing - so I've been staying around twenty or so like yourself.  I hope this is fixed before the Large map pack (I plain to have 60+/- factions)

I know sometimes I could get away with a certain number if I kepted tryin

60 factions would be just nuts! I wonder how large the maps are gonna be?

What OS you running?

On Windows 8 64-bit it'll work like a charm. :)

You got this to work with random maps?  How did you add all of the factions?

Bad-ass!!  Disregard man, I didn't know we were limited by the number of custom players made... that's awesome, I'm glad you said something!

he hell you get random generator with so many players? How can you even get huge maps (bigger then large)?

I am running Windows 7 64 bit. I am thinking it's finally time to ditch the ancient vid card.

Yes, even with "only" 22 players, most of which I have made into different color schemes based upon race, it's cool to see them in all their varieties!

The armor sets look terrific and it really seems like a huge world with many nations.

For larger maps, check out this thread:

As for the players, you have to custom create factions and a character for each.  I didn't know this either, but now I'm playing on a map with 14 opponents.

I upgraded from a nVidia 9600GT (a bit less than yours) to an AMD 7770 and it's been a positive experience for me. I'd recommend getting that or a 650TI or 660 (if you can afford it) since they're a year newer and likely supported longer.

The biggest benefit I noticed in upgrading was a vastly improved transition time between the cloth map and 3D. Plus, the new card made it possible for me to run at 1080p without having to sacrifice game performance. My Windows Experience Index for video card only went from 6.9 to 7.5, though. Those 9000-series cards were a great value at the time!

I never upgraded my video card because I didn't need to. I don't play FPS. Battlefield is installed for a friend and it runs perfectly, although I assume in much less detail. I play mainly this game now and most likely will for years to come in addition to Starcraft, AOE Online and I downloaded Crusader Kings 2 but haven't had time to learn and play as most of my time is spent with Elemental.

Again, alot goes on with myself and 21 AIs that I can run now dealing with each other!

I would love to see the addition of banners being wielded for your armies.
