Don't neglect Seanw's mod, which he's currently splitting into smaller sections, or the joint mod in progress he's doing with Heavenfall, Goetia. Check around in the mods directory for the appropriate threads. Perhaps put them all up as "First Mods?"
Personally I am really looking forward to trying Sean's mods out, but don't feel there is currently enough enticing content behind them specifically geared to attracting new players. I will be clicking download as soon as he provides us with updated links though; hint, hint.
