4 v 4 is the stable of diet of sins mp. always has been. 5v5 to a lesser extent if theres an excess of players.
But the only map worth a damn is 4v4 Random (single)
This map is not fully random. Its only random within a fixed template so its not a different expierience each time its played. its infact the same expierence each time - so I regard it as ONE MAP . And because of random positions there are varying degrees of how fugged up the map is.
we need new flavours of maps
I propose
More 4v4 and 5v5 OFFICIAL FIXED MAPS which offer an expierence that random large single cannot offer ,
For example If Ironclad bothers to fix twin empires (ive been wanting this since 2006) , you get a game where you start very close to a partner ; Its setup as 2 pairs vs 2 pairs . Its brilliant as you really have to work with your ally , whether its counting down a jump on allied chat or helping your partner clear the mutually shared ice planet since you have both agreed to hes going civ first and your military first.
In the late stages of Vanilla Sins (before entrenchment) we used to play Twin empires but have unlocked teams so that when we found our associated players we can then "ally up" , but this isnt ideal as if a player drops the AI often de-allies.
more decent maps like a fixed twin empires , and players can soon transition to fixed maps and make sins alot more interesting.
