So I had this random idea that popped into my head, similar to my other great idea that if I spend $100 a week on lottery tickets I'll win the jackpot in 3 months.
Would it be cool if the game logged major feats of my heroes and sovereign, recording them in a unique diary kind of thing? Would this add a cool kind of immersion to the game, making me feel more connected to my main characters? It's almost like a debug.err file, but tracking key events throughout the game that tell the stories of the characters or cities.
For example:
Capitar Dude Sovereign Guy
- Spring 159 - <Sovereign> founds Capital <city name>
- Winter 159 - <Sovereign> battles <creature name or names> and emerges triumphant!
- Fall 162 - <Sovereign> and <Hero Lady> battle <Bad Ass Spider>, losing the battle and <Sovereign> flees back to <City> while <Hero> loses their ear.
Hero Lady
- Winter 161 - <Hero Lady> agrees to join <Sovereign's> cause.
- Summer 168 - <Hero Lady> completes Quest blah blah.
We could even have a diary log unique to the city, recording the story of each city or capital, logging buildings, battles, etc.
Now admittedly this might be a stupid idea (it probably is) or hard to implement but I honestly think I would enjoy, especially in the later stages of the game, to review the story of my Sovereign, Heroes, or cities. If Stern's writing were set loose, to add some cool descriptive language to key events, it might add flavor to the log as well.
Oh, this reminds me I need to go check my lottery tickets...
