For real. My friends PC is a bit older and with a huge amount of late game lag (Entrenchment, diplomacy wasn't out then) it takes a long time for any action to occure. This Saturday we liberated 4 planets. We have a battle in one system lasting for the last half year battling 3 factions who always use armistice, so the battle never ends and we just lose a few ships per hour. Its EPIC

Geez... are you trying to torture yourself with horrendous games or something?

Gain the income advantage through trade spam, build 100 bomber squads and a huge fleet to complement it, target the enemy Akkans until their armistice is on cooldown so they die, then wipe the remaining enemy fleets with your larger fleet. Shouldn't take more than 2 hours to destroy the enemy fleet.

How anyone could consider not being able to play beyond a virtual stalemate fun is beyond me... especially if the enemy is just a dumb AI...

Here's an idea... I'm not 100% sure how the Armistice autocast works, but it might only activate when the Akkan itself is damaged. If you turn all autoattack off on all ships and strikecraft, and then priority target one enemy Akkan, it will quickly Armistice - but that will expire after 60 (ingame) seconds and you might be able to then manually order everything to shoot at it and it may die. Repeat for all enemy Akkans and then you're down to a standard fleet-to-fleet battle... if your fleet is superior you can then just sit back and watch the fireworks.

Of course, if Armstice AI-autocast activates even when the Akkan itself isn't being damaged, this won't work...

Another idea which should work regardless: split your main fleet. If Armstice keeps getting activated, you aren't in much danger of losing many ships yourself in that main battle: you could send all your Ogrovs or carriers/bombers, plus a few siege frigates, to other enemy worlds. The AI is very bad at splitting its fleet efficiently and quickly: simply warp out to another world when the enemy warps in. If you can do this on 2 or 3 fronts that'll probably spell death for the AI, if you can respond in time (shouldn't be a problem given the LONG time everything takes).

The armistice autocasts even when another ship is targetted. And we already split our fleet. Problem is that the battleground is one of the key positions of the map for my race and if I remove too much of my fleet it will slowly get decimated (because of the few seconds without armistice) to the point where they can just bypass it and go for my other planets. We (my friend an me) already work on getting them from the flanks but it takes time (endless time) to get there and cut their supplylines off. Since all the computer players work together they are really giving us a hard time to decimate them. They are mostly no imminent threat but hard to come by.

Never knew, just thought they were not sending the new episodes. Have they really let that show die? It was so much fun to watch.

This will be my last post on the topic, as this subject has really taken a wrong turn on Albeqerque. They had at one point planned on making some TV Movies for Atlantis and SG, but I never heard anything else except for the straight to DVD movies to wrap up the orignal series. I was never a huge fan of SGU anyways, it went away from the series' roots to try and capitalize on the BSG craze.

Back on topic though, I think someone should probably in vest in a new computer. What are the specs on the computer anyways?
