Question: are there 1 or 2 items from the favor mod that you think would be good to add to vanilla demigod?

Question: are there 1 or 2 items from the favor mod that you think would be good to add to vanilla demigod?

Well, the title covered the gist.  Imagine a world where Demigod, as it exists, had every bug fixed.  Then, consider that we want to add a few favor items using favor mod as the example.  What 2 items would you include in the base game?  Please list specific items and indicate why they would be good in the base game.  As it stands, there are maybe 4-6 good favor items to pick from.  It would be nice to add some more.  SOOOOOO.... consider what we have and tell me what you think would be a good addition that would cause you to choose an item over the existing.

If Demigod does get another patch, I will push for inclusion of these items, so your feedback does matter.

And last - the real goal is to make Demigod more fresh to folks and add some new tactics.  Any item that would be game changing (but not something that you would ALWAYS choose, should go to the top of the list.)

Thanks!

Yes, and this thread is about favor items, not consumables.  I don't think that a lock-break is a good idea for a consumable anyway, as that just creates an escalating gold-based capture-lock arms race.  As a favor item, it might be 'more powerful', but it would come with the opportunity cost / potential disadvantage of not having a combat-oriented favor item, meaning that not everyone in a game (or someone in every game) would have that ability.

However, as I keep re-iterating, something like this would still need to accompany a rebalance of all existing favor items and artifacts.

still disagree.  Aim for some change that might be meaningful.  If that's agreed to, push for more.

How would making dozens of favor items viable with moderate boosts not be meaningful?  That would necessarily be far more significant than introducing one or two items with special abilities that have never been tested in context with existing favor items.

Either way, it's naive to think that any of it will find its way into an official patch.  If not even critical bugfixes are worthy of a patch, ported FavorMod items aren't even on the map.

What sounds easier - convincing SD to install a full balance mod into a base game or adding 2 new items (or just updating 2 existing favor items)?  With that in mind, hopefully my comments are a bit more clear (along with the OP for that matter).

We will see though.

Neither is more or less 'easy', given that any patch will have to go through internal balance evaluation and extensive QA testing.  The issue isn't that one is more difficult than the other, but that they're both equally unlikely to happen unless Stardock is willing to commit to a full QA cycle on a patch that alters balance.
