Modding extent question

So I am wondering, how far is modding going to be taken in Elemental? I remember hearing it said that it's suppost to be one of the bigger draws of the game, but I am wondering if we will be able to do things like create our own stats, change game mechanics, create and delete resources etc? Also, will Jon Shafer's "Win The Game" button be fully moddable?

I guess I am asking because the only very modable game i've ever played where I was really aware of the modability was the two Neverwinter Nights games, which are very much off the deepside. I've heard Civ4 and Civ5 referenced to give indications, but I really only have an inkling about how much those games are changed. I guess i'm wondering how big I can think about mods, in the long run ^_^

They've said that their goal is to provide such a level of customization through modding that it should be possible to create a whole new game.

We're just not there yet. Right now, I would say that it's difficult to create something that isn't already in the game in some form or another. And impossible to make the AI use things in a smart way.

But as for "how big can I dream"? That's supposed to be big.
