City tile limit?

City tile limit?

has anyone found a way to increase the city tile limit? or at least exclude resource tiles from counting towards it? im getting sick of trying to keep my cities from touching resources so I'll have a prayer of getting all the buildings that i need built X|

 

 

the mechanic in questions is this: cities have something like a 50 tile limit, you can only take up 50 tiles with a city. thats not a huge deal, but if a resource tile touches your city it ends up inside the walls and counts towards the limit. boom, 4 tiles right there. but because of other cities or terrain, you cant always avoid that. last game i was in i had a lvl 4 city and only one available tile on which to build (was well under the limit, but only one green tile) when i built there, it brought 5 resource tiles inside the walls. this put me over the 50 tile limit, and prevented the city from ever reaching lvl 5.

 

anyways, QQ over, has anyone found a way around this?

Found the ssue. Didn't know that you can't use new mods with an unoded save game. And when you restore the saved game it changes the mods to what they were in the save.  Started fresh new game without loading a save and it worked.

Hi, could anyone tell me step by step how to get it to work? Downloaded Carlzilla files, Cityhubmods1.1 rar, it contains Z_K_Cityhubs.xml and Z_F_Cityhubs.xml.

I tried putting them to program files/stardock/elemental/mods - diden´t show up in game, then i putted in my doc/my games/elemental/mods - same. Both times i had mods enabled in options and i started new game.

Have original copy and up to current update if it is important info.

Any help would be appreciated.

I've never tried this mod, but it is quite possible, judging by the date of the last post, that this mod has not been updated with the new versions of the game.  The second location (MyDocuments/MyGames/etc.) is the correct location for mods.  The XML may need to be updated to work with the most recent version of the game.

Well the game say´s its 1.11v and the Carlzilla told the files were up to 1.1 so it might be that or maybe he just forgot to type 1 more 1 at the end.
