ok ok i know im writing a book but hey i cant help it
here is my 9 capital class ships now this group spans a bunch of classes from Freightor, to battlship to carrier to dread to mom to titan.
ok i wil begin with the Battleship class as this is the most popular and the ships i definatly see as more capital ships than cruisers in this game.
1.Raven: This ship is the flagship of the Caldari its a feared missle boat that is capable of launching long range strikes with cruise missles or heavy close range damage with torpedoes it also boasts a solid tank and is very versatile and the most popular ship for mission running. its not overly expensive but an exceptional ship all around.
2.Scorpion: known as the Scorp was a pure ECM boat this ship was almost useless for firepower couldnt kill shit, but many people would use them as lure ships becasue it could boast a nasty tank for shielding having 8 mid slots to work with. It was almost always called primary in any battle due to its jamming capabilities not a ship u want jamming half your fleet while in a fight. IT was sometimes in rare cases used as a nos/nuet boat and was a support ship. This ship would definatly make a good caldari support cap.
3.The Rohk: or ROCK as most call it like the mythical thunderbird is a very diverse ship its primary role was to give caldari a Gun platform ship. The role of this ship is a tough one but mostly its used as a sniper with extreme railgun range second only to the apoc. Prior to its enhancment it used to be the king of long range sniping. While railguns are often the weakest form of sniping they were very effective. This ship can also tote a very strong shield rank if not setup for sniping it was capable of using torpedoes only 4 luanchers instead of its 8 gun turret slots but if setup with a decent shield tank and blasters the short range highest damage weapons in the game it was a dangerous boat. This ship should get a role reconsideration and much more love and considered for a capital ship.
4.Golem:This is the maruader class or t2 variant of the caldari raven it is a mean ship boasting a superior tank and double the damge of its missle bays only needing 4 missle bays unlike the ravens 6 it puts out a hell of a wallop but this ship is extremly expensive costing almost the price of 10 ravens. It tank is second to none and can take a serious beating and the empty slots allow for nuet or nos giving it cap/antimatter warfare capabilities.
4a.Caldari Navy raven: This raven is a supped up raven often a very popular ship it is a raven with slightly more tank but has 1 more missle bay so its output for dps is higher if the golem doesnt seem to fit i would ask this be considered.
now i branch into what eve considered Capital class ships
5.Charon: This old water hauler was transformed into an industrial capital ship later and is a huge slow moving golaith barely able to use stargates this hulk can haul anything and is the choice for setting up starbases or POS stations while often in this game cruisers end up with the starbase ship i suggest it be used in its rightful place as a cap. While this ship has no weapons it has quite a bit of bulk and can take alot of damage. It is slow moving but capable. I suggest this cap be cheap very cheap and used as colony ships in the game this is often the first cap ship anyone gets in eve. This ship also should double as the resource taking ship.
Now we get into the next stage of cap ships
6.Phoenix: This massive dreadnaught is one of Caldari's answer to the threat of invasion by starbases. Its primary role is that of base bashing or attacking other capital ships. It uses capital class torpedoes and has a might shield tank. Though the phoenix is not the weakest it is not the most favored of dreads to have. IT can boast some of the best damage to starbases of any dread next to the Moros. Slow moving and unable to jump without a cynosural field dreads posses a seige mode that locks them in place for long duratoins but brings thier damge up exceptionally high while increasing thier tanking tremendously. These ships should be only obtainable through alot of research.
7.Chimera:The carrier it is what it says a fighter boat this ship is capable of fielding many fighters and doing tremendous damage to ships of all classes it is a support ship as wel being able to heal and support the fleet the spider tank of many carriers was feared due to the ability for them to heal themselves while outputting a lot of damage. Carriers also were unable to jump from gate to gate and needed a cynosural field to jump to. These ships were often used by pod pilots to jump behind enemy lines and bring in ships for pilots and resources needed to wage war.
This next group is known as supercapitals they are a whole different ball of wax
8.Wyvern:This MOM or mothership was the same as a carrier it had all the abilities of a carrier except it could feild bombers these special fighters are anti capital and are exceptionally nasty capable of decimating a capital ship like a bunch of mice eating some cheese. These mother ships could field huge groups of ships in its bay for players to bring behind enemy lines with them and could also field fighters and drones much like a carrier. Moms were ewar proof giving them an advantage no other capital class has you cannot stop these ships by ordinary means. indertiction craft are the only way to stop them from jumping away or warping out they cannot be jammed or disrupted in anyway. They are simply immune to ewar. These ships were super expensive and came from only the best pod pilots. feared by all and the kill of one was coveted. This ship would dent the wallets of any who undertook its construction.
9.Leviathan: The ulitmate in caldari space ship design the Titan class this ship was not only huge it was devistatingly powerful. Early on these ships toted the now nerfed doomday weapon which was a huge area effect weapon. This weapon could be used 1 time every hour but any caught in its blast would often find themselves dead right quick. This large Aoe blast could take out all ships except battlships tanked for its damage type and cap ships anything smaller died instantly. Later due to the unfairness of this weapon as they never expected allainces to build up to 15 of these ships. Imagine 15 doomsdays going off in a row nothing would live at all except the titans an ultimate weapon. This was changed. The titans new Doomsday was a directed energy weapon specific to the race it was a single shot weapon that could instantly kill any ship but a mothership or another titan. possibly a dreadnaught in seige mode could survive. while titans cannot use fighters or bombers like other carrier class ships they can also wield dreadnaught turrets or launchers so they can pack a huge punch as well as thier doomsday weapons. They are extremly hard to kill the only thing that can really stand up to a titan is a station. And not always. Its all dependant on how the station is put together or POS. The titan also has a special ability as it uses the cynosural field like the other major capital ships it can create a jump bridge and using its anitmatter it can jump a fleet with it of any ships near it. SO it can instantly bring its support with it. This is one of the only ships capable of doing this. This is a max research ship IMHO its endgame it should cost a fortune and it should be only obtainable when all research is done. While it is possible to see a few of these ships ingame on one team it shouldnt be common to see more than 1 and when it is seen it should be feared.
ok i added my 2 cents again more like my 20cents
but nevertheless i left out black ops ships cause welll cloaking is an issue and black ops are for cloaking and recon ships they are very specialised ships and i dont really see a place for them in this mod to many other ships do the same role.
