A wise man said: "making use of other's good ideas that you can put to good use is a good idea itself; unless they're patent"
Well, ok, nobody said anything like that. But it still makes sense, doesn't it?
My suggestion is that a small new feature is coded into the Forums that would inform users of where they can find replies of SD/IC employees.
That feature is present on Blizz forums and it tremendously helps in filtering endless spam from reliable info. There, a small Blizz logo appears near the thread name when a Blizz employee has posted inside.
On our forum, there are only two ways you can find SD/IC posts:
- in the heavily outdated Sins News section where nothing interesting has shown up for some time (sry
)
- by going into every IC/SD group member's profile and filtering threads by their posts
In both the above ways, the posts show up in "last reply first" order, so a spamthread where 1000 people replied rubbish after, say, Blair's last post 3 weeks ago would pop up first, while the thread where he posted three days ago but noone visited would end up below. This makes looking up for official statements very hard.
How could that be handled?
Right now, our thread tags are:
- Normal Topic (Unvisited /New Posts / Read)
- Sticky
- Hot thread (Unvisited /New Posts / Read)
Suggestion is to add one of the following features:
1. A new thread tag that would indicate that "a SD/IC official posted here".
2. Right now, you can put a smiley near the thread name as you create it. A new smiley resembling a SD/IC/whatever icon could show up in that slot if a SD/IC official posts in that thread.
3. The thread name could change color to pink/blue/yellow/peanut butter jelly/whatever if a SD/IC official posted inside.
4. actually any other way is ok too, the above seem to be easiest to code though.
PS. An option to view a list of threads, where a certain users posted, sorted by the date of HIS last post, would also be very welcome.
