Unbearable turtle pace!!!

Unbearable turtle pace!!!

[Use the +/- buttons to speed up] Unbearable turtle pace!!!

i find the pace of sins to be painfully slow ;l

if im playing sins am also doing any combination of the following to cope with the down time involved: watching a movie, talking on the phone, folding clothes, cooking, playing guitar, studying

when 1.1 beta came out i was so excited that they beefed up the speed to be damn near unmanagable (in others words not mine) my only complaint with the speed was how it eventually slowed back down to the unbearable turtle speeds. we should all demand they add a higher lvl of speed, bring back insane speed and if ppl complain then they can play on current highest which i maintain to be painfully slow.

Also, we have added a couple new things that will speed up multiplayer a bit (you haven't seen these yet).

the usual teaser. wondered when that would come.

I find the game speed quite fine, but then I'm not an expert in the game. if I have the choice I'd play a mixture of normal and fast speeds, but I'd say with some more practice, fast speed all round should not be a big problem. though I do have to say that faster than current max speed, I would really not want to play.

I don't even play on Fast. Everything on Normal :P I actually liked the old beta speeds even better.. now it's considerably faster :(

I knew it, Anny is one of those slow 80-year old drivers that won't pull over to let you pass on a country road.

the people i like to play with have long since learned sins thourogh enough to enjoy all the stratagy aspecs and carry them out like a calculator does math, i honestly could almost perfect accuarate tell you how a game pans out just by scouting positions. all thats left is waiting for your ships to travel and structures to build and money to accumulate and fleets to mass.

i even dont take bathroom breaks before games, i que my opening builds and hit the spot. if i have to dump then i send my scouts out and que some actions for my cap and go fast.

this games so slow to me, i can take a dump almost any point in the game, just automate my fleet and cap, que builds, /a afk 5 or 10

Yes, I believe you, but the game shouldn't cater to you and people like you, because you are a super-minority.

I can beat most people, but I'm sure I could never beat you or your friends.  I bet if your fleet met my fleet in a grav well you could queue up a bunch of actions and then go take your dump, while I am furiously clicking the whole time you are gone, and I'd still lose hard.  I'll do you one better than that - I bet you do the same with no queued up orders - just send the fleeet in and let the autopilot take control, and it would still be a slaughter.

Understand that this is similar to Bach complaining that his organs, harpsichords, pianos, etc. don't have nearly enough keys for him.  He plays 3 organs at a time, as if he's an octopus, and still it's ridiculously easy for him.  The man wrote a quadruple fugue just for kicks, and played it - easily.  The man could play a song forward with one hand, and backward with another, at the same time.

It's similar to Kasparov playing chess with 10 other grandmasters at the same time, and blindfolded to boot, and beating every single one of them (had to keep all chessboards in memory at once, and make all players' moves mentally).  You are probably at that level in this game, so of course you are complaining.  But for everyone else, please allow the game to be played at a decently slow speed.

That's why there are options.  Why can't the grandmaster's have an option to go faster???  If you want the game to go slow, pick the slow option.

But that's a double edged sword.. granted I'm not seen much online, but do you know of any games that aren't played on fast? If there's an even faster setting, then at least the vast majority of games will start being played on that instead.

I usually play on slow everything. I think one time I left my game on all night running to come back to find all my Caps lvl 8+. And now with entrenchment I think Im gonna leave the game running 24/7 and put it on the slowest setting possible. Muhahahahaha....True Real Time here I Come!!!!!

Been playing the civ series since 1 came out (Civ 4 now).  Via Lan, a game can last several weekends even, so Sins is actually fast-paced for my Civ friends that have tried it.  We love the stately pace of the game; being able to watch and enjoy the battles; not feeling like we are playing Whack-a-Mole; not hearing kiddies type "go go go" because their ridalin wore off.

In fact, with the Entrenchment beta, our games are shorter now for some reason, average about 3 hours.  Use to be about 4-5 I think.

I suppose having a "Red Bull" speed setting in Sins would'nt hurt anything, but it's kind'a like complaining Chess or Scrabble games are too slow.  They are suppose to be. . .   ("omg omg omg!  go go go! You've spent like 10 entire seconds trying to get that tripple word score you mentallly arthritic turtle!  Place the letter tiles faster! FASTER! Why does'nt this game have a one syllable word setting! *breathes in paper bag*)

Chess is indeed slow without clock timer - but with it can indeed be fast!

Sins need exactly this option - the timer!

Just like chess :p

I admit everything.

Wait, it's nothing, isn't it? "I admit nothing"? Yes, I'll stick to that one.

someday when i pass annatar on the sins forum karma scale ill instate my grand plan to take over ICO!!!!!!!!! and all games will be played in 10 minutes!!!!!! MUAHAHAHA =D

but in all honesty i dont think its that big a deal to add a crackhead speed,  if you dont like that fast host a game on slow and dont join mine ;)
