Cant Change resolution

Could use some help please!

 

using a dell inspirion 1720

got the latest updates from dell also updated my vid drivers from nvida

using a 8600 GT notebook vid card

game will net let me select any resolution, i can choose refresh rate and anti ailias, just a blank window for resoluiont screen

any way to manually set this or why is this not being recognized?

The game bases its choices on what windows reports it is capable of, but many laptops don't have actual monitor drivers and the generic PnP monitor driver can have issues with that. You can set the resolution manually in the file below, or use windowed mode.

 

Config location -

Vista:
C:\Users\your username\AppData\Local\Ironclad Games\Sins of a Solar Empire\Setting\user.setting

XP:
C:\Documents and Settings\your username\Local Settings\Application Data\Ironclad Games\Sins of a Solar Empire\Setting\user.setting

Please note that some of these directories are hidden by default. To unhide them, go to Control Panel -> Folder Options -> View and set yourself to view hidden files and folders.
