It's not really a mod related question , but it's closer to modding than strategy or multiplayer
.
I like the ingame map designer. I like it because you can both make a map that looks more or less what you'd want it to, but still a random one, giving you the fresh feeling every time you play it.
I think this is a very good tool.
I'm having a lil problem tho. I can't figure out a way to control home planet's placement.
Example:
- I make a <-|--------> sized single star 4 player map
- give it one planet group with its max distance set to <--|-------> and min distance set to <|--------->
I end up with a nice tight planet group around the star and... four home planets with asteroids and one or two additional planets around them, all scattered faaar, far away from the star. Whatever I do, the player's starting planets ALWAYS seem to be created on the very outskirts of the system.
Is there any way of controlling where they pop up at?
I know there's a planet type "Home - terran" but I can't seem to make it work for me.
Any ideas?
I don't want to use forge cause I hate fixed maps. I
the randomness of designer-created maps.
