Extract the Zip File.

In your Sins Directory , there is a Galaxy Folder. Place all galaxy files in there

In your Sins Directory , there is a Textures Folder. Place all tga files in there

Download with IE , some problems with Firefox not downloading the full file. Blame freewebs host

When I downloaded the one from Mediafire, my AVG said the same thing.

Ok thats wierd , my norton didnt detect anything...

and I just dled it onto my other pc with mcafee , nothing..

Is AVG ..avast?

Because Avast has a tendency to produce alot of false positives.

Any other virus scanners pick up stuff?

If you download with Firefox, you may have a problem. File should be about 143 K unzipped.

I had a problem downloading with Firefox for some reason. I'd get a file that was about 64 K and I couldn't unzip it. However, downloading with Internet Explorer didn't seem to cause a problem.

Gametimes? If we can get enough people to install the maps, they could be hosted at any time, ideally. I have no idea what the bailknight mod is, but for now I think our best bet is to just get people to try custom maps. Once the community is into that, then perhaps people would start playing custom mods.

Tell me your ideas and we can create the maps then add them to the mappack.

Ive had this before in Homeworld 2 , where people would give me ideas and I use it as a template to create a design off.

Making the maps is much, much easier than making first person shooter maps. Just go to the Downloads section and download Galaxy Forge and see if you can find the sticky-threaded Galaxy Forge tutorial in the Modding forum. Making maps is easy, but making good maps that people would want to play online without you initiating the game is the tough part.

I really like these. Good going mate, I will install.

My only concern is its hard enough getting games as it is, without trying to make it harder. That said if you want to start building a list of who has these maps I can add them as friends and look out for them.

The map pack idea is starting to bare fruit. Earlier today we played [6p]Greenfields, which, as far as I know, was its online premier.

Someone willing to help me out? I downloaded this, but when I tried to put them in my Galaxy folder, nothing happens. I've done searches, and have heard a little bit about what helped others through this, but I couldn't make sence of it. Maybe it would help if I had heard of 'manifest' before, along with a bunch of other jargon.

Anyway, I just downloaded Enchrenchment, and am running Vista 32. If this isn't where I'm supposed to save them, where do I?

These maps need to be updated to run with v1.17 and 1.03 (regular Sins and Entrenchemtn, respectively). If you want to play them, I suggest getting Harpo's Sins map updater program. It worked great for my older maps.

Those are the versions I have, so the updater shouldn't help me, from what I heard. Is that true?

I think Harpo's map updater will update any older Sins map.

Note that maps no longer go in the main Galaxy folder. Instead you have to put them into your "Galaxy Forge" folder in your Application Data folder. If you download my map pack, http://tinyurl.com/sins3 you can find Installation Instructions and instructions for finding your Application Data folder, which should also work for P5yy's maps, assuming they're updated.

as centurionjixra said, my map updater v 2 & v2.01 WILL update any map that needs updating whether it is on the galaxyforge,map designer, OR galaxy folders in either the user or program files areas., also the v2 & v2.01 map updaters will update maps from ANY date of sins to the current map version(3)
