Editing a galaxy map

I don't understand how this works.  I mean I've loaded the Forge and changed the starting planet of Player0 to Desert since I intend to play as the Advent, I've also edited the galaxy file to increase the starting resources well below the limit (9999 - I increase the crystals to 1000).  When I select the map I make sure I'm team1 - with the pale blue color - and yet whenever I load this godd*m game I don't start where I should and the crystal increase doesn't show.  I must have re-loaded a dozen times so far - putting back the crystals to the default, changing my opponents...  Nothing - I *never* start at the same place even though the galaxy file clearly states I should start in one star system on a desert world...

We are aggravated *scowls*

Check under custom-maps. When I tried to edit a map, it showed up in-game as a brand new map.

You could check to make sure that the spawn probability for your home planet is at 1. If it's at 2 or something it will only have a chance of spawning, but at 1, it will always be there.

It is - at spawn factor 1 that is. And it is not in the Custom Map - besides I overwrote the one I edited (Aerolian Sector).

This sucks !

so how are you supposed to always spawn on the same planet? I have the same problem..... hmmmmzz. The crystal can be edited in note pad under "newplayer0"
