Why can't I order Twilight of the Arnor?

Okay hi. I just tried to order Twilight with one of those  Visa creditcard giftcards(parents wont let me use theirs), and it denied me, twice. I don't see why, cause I used the SAME exact method to order Windows Blinds, so whats up? Why can't I buy the game?

Does it have enough money on it to buy the game?

Yep. It's got 50$, and the game is 30. Just denied me again, and it's brand new. :/

Now it's saying I ordered it, and the card balance says 20$, but it never actually ORDERED, cause it DENIED me every time. But if it ordered it, I would have got an email, or something.

Edit: Should I post a screen shot of the Visa site saying it charged?

It might have to do with the method of authorization for the transaction. If it was a PRE-authorization (complicated to explain in a few words), it might have tried to charge a minumum balance greater than the value of the card, which would cause it to bounce. This minimum hold value would be set by either the card issuer or the card vendor, and might vary based on the type of transaction.

For example, if you tried to use the card at a gas pump nowadays, it is very likely that a temporary Pre-Authorization of $75.00 might be made against your card because the pump doesn't know how much you are going to spend until you finish (could be a lawn mower, could be a Hummer - the card processor doesn't know).

That being said, it still obviously DID log the hold for $30.00 to the gift card's available balance. If the the transaction is not later reconciled, the Hold will be released and the full available balance would be restored.

THAT being said, it doesn't mean that's what happened.

I'm guessing what happened is that VISA put a hold on for the amount, but rather than releasing the hold and charging through, it made a new charge for the purchase (which failed since the hold left only $20 available). You should be able to confirm if that's the case or find out what did happen by contacting sales@stardock.com.

Oh, the best course of action if you are not sure is to call the phone number on the back of the card and ask the customer service representative what the current status of the account is.

I've already called the number, and it said the remaining balance was 20$(What it would have been if it ordered.) I also looked online, and it says I purchased something that costs 29.95 from Stardock Systems. So, I don't know what went wrong. But I'll contact the support email.

Reminds me of my own online headache: Newegg implemented 'Securecodes' for Mastercards. I set one up but somehow their end glitched and my new password refused to work. I attempted a few purchases, but after it rejects it, it says it shitcans your order.

After trying all night, frustrated, I gave up, intending to call them in the morning. Before I did, I went onto Newegg and checked, and I turned out I managed to buy that order about 8 times. Despite the fact I had my code wrong, they placed orders anyway.

Thankfully because it was a MAJOR breach of security on their behalf, they helpfully took back the utter HEAP of boxes that arrived on my doorstep a few days later... what am I going to do with 16 stick-on heatsinks? I suppose I could cover every card in my system....

It's still charged 30$ from Stardock, and no game. :/

Edit: Okay, it's tuesday now, and your company still has my 30$, so ya know, why don't you just give me what you CHARGED me for?
