Hi, I've seen this problem discussed elsewhere, but none of the solutions have worked for me. I cannot get browser tabs to reopen properly in a saved group.
Here's what I'm running:
- Windows Version 21H1 (OS Build 19043.1889)
- Groupy 1.50
- Firefox 103.0.2 (64-bit)
- Edge Version 104.0.1293.63 (Official build) (64-bit)
- Vivaldi 5.4.2753.37 (Stable channel) (64-bit)
Here's how it goes:
- Navigate to web page
- Drag window to group
- Window successfully grouped
- In a new browser window, navigate to another web page
- Drag new window to group
- Window successfully grouped
- Save & Close group
- Reopen group
I've tried it with three different browsers and these are the results I get:
- Edge: No browser windows in group, two windows open outside of group, both on start page.
- Firefox: One browser window/tab in group, one outside of group, both on start page.
- Vivaldi: One browser window/tab in group, one outside of group, the grouped tab is on the "saved" web page, but the outside window is on the start page.
I tried making sure there were no browser functions running already when I reopened the group, but got the same results.
Anything else I should try?
EDIT: Ok, I did some more searching through the forums and it sounds like Firefox is a lost cause. But Edge should work, right? Also just saw a fix which involves editing 'command lines' for the saved group. I haven't tried that yet, but might give it a go.
EDIT2: I tried editing the command line in the saved group file. Firefox was a total bust. Edge and Vivaldi were partial successes. Inserting the specific URLs in the individual group entries opened a single browser in a Groupy tab, but with the desired URLs as browser tabs underneath that. So can I assume that Groupy won't open multiple instances of a browser as separate tabs? Apologies if this has been addressed elsewhere. I keep finding bits and pieces of solutions when searching the forum.
