merc ship bonus not showing on planet

the auspicious start. Gives influence to bump to planet it is stationed at. Influence numbers do not change in tool tip on main map of in planet view. BUT it is taking affect as you can tell by observing the ZOI moving the sip into and out of orbit

Ok, very srtrange, I thought the influence bonuses (at least the flat ones) didn't work at all. Is this 2.2.1?

I do know that the other merc bonus ships do work and are shown in the tool tip. This is the one ship I never use.

It's been a couple of games since I used an influence boosting merc, but as I recall what happened was that the merc was supposed to give both a flat increase and a percentage increase (from its tooltip), and what actually happened was that only the percentage increase was applied.

I had all three influence-boosting mercs parked on a planet so I could politely acquire two planets owned by another civilization. Even using influence-boosting planetary improvements the influence area was so trivial I ended up just invading the planets toward the endgame. I didn't keep track of the influence points, but there was clearly something amiss there.
