Guess I should have posted this here but the game was fine at 1.8, ships sometimes stuttered and some areas were missed during exploration but it wasn't too bad. Since going to 1.9 I noticed the game play was smoother but I am having texture issues with some of the races, most noticeably the Terrans.
Textures seem to "not fit" or some times go missing to a black void. The "fit" seems to change as I switch from one ship set to another in the custom race appearance tab. Sometimes the lines look like they are in the wrong spots, when I switch out and back I get an almost heart shape on the saucer of the scout, out and back again and there are faint circles all over the ship. Colours don't always seem to match.
The Drengen and I think Yor ships do the same but it isn't as noticeable , the Earth Alliance and Raider ships and components seem completely unaffected.
I tried validating, reinstalling, deleting all custom ships and defaulting my Documents/My Games/GalCiv3 folder with no change. Even boosted my virtual memory and put my PC in performance power setting. Played with the values for maximumtextureatlasresolution in the settings file.
Also when I play as Terran when I zoom in to a ship the spinning symbol disappears and is replaced with a square pallet of what seems to be ship symbols for the map. When using other races and templates this pallet appears only for a moment then disappears leaving me with just the ship on my screen.
Any one else having this issue? Can I get 1.8 back? Steam seems to not want to let me keep my game un-updated.
