Some ideas that could improve the game.
When starting a new game, it should be great to control the following options:
- percentage of habitable planets
- average quality of habitables planets
- percentage of precursors planets
- average quality of precursors planets
- frequency of precursors anomalies: none, rare, uncommon, common, abondant.
Starbases annexion:
An improvement could be to allow the warships to besiege a starbase in order to annex it.
If the siege isn't broken after, for example, 20 turns, then the people of the starbase withdraw and the starbase is annexed. Military starbases should be more prepared to sieges and they withdraw after, for example, 40 turns.
New faction: the precursors inheritors, with the following abilities:
- Ancient
- Precursors inheritors, that allow to build orbital rings and orbital stations, to boost the planet raw production, base income points, base research points, base influence points, base manufacturing points, and/or military manufacturing. A precursors orbital terraformer could also greatly boost the planet quality.
Other new ability:
- terraforming masters, that allow to terraform non-gazeous unhabitable planets, to a random quality, with a special colony ship that have a terraformer module.
New ship components:
- light speed engine, or space-time distorsion engine, that allow to teleport a ship or a fleet to any point of the galaxy.
- high energy electro-magnetic waves generator, that freeze the enemy ships weapons, and eventually its propulsors, for a limited time during a battle. A defense against it could be a counter waves generator. The same freeze could be achieved with a "solar wind generator", and the defense a "magnetic field generator".
