It would be nice if the game prompted you for WHICH type of constructor is grabbed by the starbase "request constructor" thing...since one may have several flavors of constructors in use. For ex, I often leave the generic one active but more often I use a stripped down variant with multiple cargo pods, since I don't care about speed, sensors, support, etc on "internal" (to my empire) constructors, I just want as much constructor oomph delivered as efficiently as possible.
PS - Even more ideally I hope the entire starbase thing is gutted and redone. GC3's version is better than GC2, sort of (tend to need WAY more starbases), but the micromanagement hell of building and managing starbases is kind of brutal.
