At first I was interested to read all the descriptions of various planetary events, etc. But, by now, I have read them all. Several times.

Unless the problem is coming up with more descriptions? Well, how about allowing users to submit descriptions (planet events, mega events, maybe even angry alien sabre-rattling dialogue), and all stardock has to do is read an approve! A ready made team of imaginative sci-fi nerds with nothing but spare time on their hands to write up all sorts of planetwide disasters! It could even be a contest, with winners rewarded by having their submissions appear in game, and losers punished by some appropriately evil event, like being attacked by a giant shark (stop me if you've heard this one before).

Alternatively, a modding interface to allow new dialogue and events (it could be released at the same time as the planned star names text editor...)

It seems a shame to have to re-read text when storage exists on my hard drive that would shame the library of congress.
