For future add-ons could something be put in to allow for breaking up designs?
Default would be cargo, support, tiney, medium, large
And how about allowing the user input their own categories for the user/custom side so I can place designs in a category of my choice.
Also can their be an option to show/hide obsolete designs?
Can we please get some penalties to a star base for being in an opponents zone of influence, perhaps reducing it's value so you or your opponent can buy it easier and if it reaches a certain point, it forces a sale if they want it.
Now for expansion ideas.
Exeo star system expansion
Break up race and planets more by adding in different breathable atmospheres, methane, hydrogen, nitrogen, carbon, etc....
This also adds more tech's since your race can't breath the atmosphere and you have to figure out how to colonize it.
How about planet sizes, I'm rather sure that Jupiter's gravity is significantly higher than Earths, and this creates more problems with colonizing larger/denser planets, and how do you keep your colony from floating away on smaller/less dense planets?
Star types give off different levels of radiation, and colonizing a planet with 30, 50 500% more radiation creates more problems and tech's to do.
How do you colonize these planets, what types of penalties are there, more tech's to over come these?
Trade Expansion, or addon
Once a trade route is active, why not give an option to embargo trade lines, ie go park a fleet with at least X logistics within x tiles from a planet and you get an option to force an embargo of it. ie no tradeing there till you either lift the embargo or your fleet is destroyed or is reduced to below the logistic level.
How about introducing trade goods, doesn't have to be very fancy, however trading say coal to a planet desiring coal doubles the trade output value.
Now that goods are in why not have trades that you can do within your own empire to build up *enhance* your own planets. Rewards can be a higher base trade value to creating an extra tile. import 1,000,000 metric tons of material to create a tile or something.
With all this trading going on, independent pirate activity along trade routes can increase in not just size with more lucrative trade routes getting better and larger ships, and pirate ship fleets along the trade route can *raid* your trade lanes decreasing their value.
