To add more to diplomacy and trade:
Trade Luxury - standard trade we see now
Trade Food - Freighter would make a trade route that send food to that planet. You could also build a Civ Distribution Center to send the Food points to other planets.
Trade Energy - Same as food but do it with manufacturing points.
All of these would in some way affect Influence, Approval, Tourism and maybe Diplomacy.
