I noticed in the latest patch that now researching weapon systems does not give me missile or kinetic weapons.  Instead you just get Beam and any special type of wps for materials and the next research past it is the 3 specializations...then comes Beam, missile, and kinetic.  Now, how can i specialize in weapons that i cant even use or mount?  I mean is this just a bug for me, or was this moved on purpose?  And if it was moved, why?  Shouldnt you get the weapon systems first, then in the specialization of them, get the special material versions as well?  I just find it very strange, that I now cannot have ships with missile and kin wps, until after i research a spec in them...that doesnt seem logical to me.  Or maybe its a bug and my tree is goofed up.
