cant declare war

tried to declare war on turn and was told I couldn't . played 102 more turns and still couldn't declare war. don't know of a way to stop war for longer than 100 turns. have played over 400 turns now. can send saved game if requested

There is a known problem with trying to declare war on the Iridium.  Was that what you were trying to do?

There is a list of reported problems in Beta 4 here.

Not just the Iridium.  I wasn't able to declare war on the Drengin.  It seems to be random races.

It is a secret galactic event that prevents wars for an unspecified length of time. All you can do is wait for the secret galactic event that counteracts this mysterious occurrence.

Or, who knows, maybe it's a bug?

I could declare war on any of the other races, just not the Drengin (after waiting 100 turns to be sure).

just an update tried to declare war with Yor definitely over a 100 turns and still tells me I can't, and iridium as well not sure for how many turns. fighting Kryn just fine though. Also is it my imagination or when I highlight a ship in a stack and then move is it the unhighlighted ship that moves???

Yes it is, and I mess it up about 90% of the time.  Guess I am easy to fool!

is this a brand new game or a continuation?  That might make a difference.

Just started out a brand new game and haven't run into enough races to comment on this yet.  Though I now notice the Time Out limit is now 50 turns instead of 100.

It was a game started in 5.1. Not sure if I could declare with the 5.1 as the war freeze out was still up.

The save games from previous builds are often unplayable with the new build

I'm having the same problems as well...

 

And not a continuation of an .81 beta save, but two times now I started a new game with a custom race....well into the 300/400 turns region...and I'm simply unable to declare war on anyone??

 

Does this perhaps have something to do with being UP chairman??
