Ideas for what you can spend destiny points on:

Halt Shadow: Sorcerer King's stronghold does not spwan any monsters for 20 turns.

Destiny's Champion: Summon a mighty hero (Pariden resurrected?)

Destiny's Shield: Shards cannot be damaged for 10 turns.

Destiny's Purpose: +10 logistics in capital and 10% Production bonus faction-wide

Destiny's Sentinel: Enchanted city gets a super-powered auto-summoned city defender 

And of course, the priest should have the ability to turn undead...assuming there will eventually be more undead added than just skeletons.

And also a Resurrection spell that can bring a trained unit back to life with full hit points in strategic mode, or half hit points in tactical mode.

Question:

1. Can the priest get more favors?

Thoughts for priest:

1. If good priest, should have the ability to clear shadowland.
2. If bad priest, should get something like Tyrant for power for god from Shards.
3. If good priest, ability to summon powerful champion (like Angel or Archangel).
4. If bad priest, ability to summon powerful champion (like Demon or Balrog).
5. If good priest, ability to increase essence production through powerful spell (increasing people's piety)
6. If bad priest, ability to increase essence production through blood sacrifice (increasing people's piety, cost population)
7. If good priest, craft powerful relic of good (Holy Avenger type thing).
8. If bad priest, craft powerful relic of evil/doom (Eye of super-evil guy).
9. If good priest, ability to half-cost of potions of healing (or double production at normal cost).
10. If bad priest, ability to half-cost some "common" recipe (not sure what's appropriate)

Not sure if good priest or bad priest, but tried to do some of both depending on direction.

Probably they will get favors from sovereign levels. Maybe they could have access to a unique church improvement that gives them another favor when built, or how about when they kill one of the SK's lieutenants. 

Things to use favors for:

-Creating fertile land for a city.

-Summoning a powerful unit. An Angel or Lightbringer or whatever. 

-Resurrecting a unit that dies. Say in tactical if you lose an important unit then you can bring it back. 

-Creating a unique crafting item. Which can be used to make unique priest weapons. 

Is just the priest coming in beta 3 or are all the remaining sovereigns coming in B3? I thought I remembered seeing that this was the beta with all the sovereigns and the DM being added. Is that still planned? 

I honestly have very little interest in this particular sovereign. It's never been my play style. I guess that makes me evil...

Because of the Christmas holidays and the GalCiv III beta (due out at the same time) we're having to scale the # of new soveriegns in beta 3.  Not enough QA time available.

Indeed, Favors can be really interesting across the board.

The priest is going to be the sovereign that does the best at keeping the Doomsday counter under control

 

Most tantalizing thing I've heard about the game so far.

Just wanted to mention it here. 

A favor could restore a destroyed shard, giving you a possible resource, reducing the SK's power hence reducing the Dooms day counter.

Am I a nerd managing bars on a computer screen, or a sovereign manning the Forge of the Overlord?  "Reduce Doomsday", as it is, insinuates the former; and feels gamey and immersion breaking.  Even just "Delay Doomsday" would actually go a long way towards alleviating this... its more from the sovereigns perspective.  Perspective is the grounding center for a cohesive sense of immersion.  Restoring, or even creating, a shard in order to actually delay doomsday just takes this a step further.

Is it not a question of how you formulate the flavor text to the option? 

Flavor text:

After intense praying, Draginol (god) has heard your prayer for help against the Mr. SK.  He has turned back time in order to undo the damage to the shard.

Game mechanics: Select the option "Restore a destriyed shard", select the destroyed shard

Game mechanics (internal):

Player selects a destroyed shard; the destroyed shard is restored to a working shard with full health/life and substracting the value from the counter; the restored shard is now available to the player as a resource. 

I was supporting your suggestion thimon2k, and agreeing with Heavenfall - that directly manipulating the doomsday counter is dull vs. doing so via second hand methods (like restoring or creating a shard); then piggybacking to comment on the consequential immersion break, exemplified by the Reduce Doomsday spell as it is currently in game.

Addition: and again we agree - flavor text, and titles, definitions, etc. are extremely important; especially concerning immersion.

How about an Orator administrator that gives 2 hope in a town?
