How to place a rally point and some observations

I am not going to re list all the stuff that has already been pointed out by many great posters here. 

 

Needless to say the Drengin need a slight buff to keep up with the other races production-wise. They seem to lag behind and need 'more cunning and trickery' to keep them on par with the OP Altarians and Humans. 

 

How can I place a rally point on the map? My options are only Planets, Starports and Star bases. None of these will work. I want to 'right click' on the map and create a rally point but i am not able to do it, is this intended?

Larsenex,

On the right hand side of the main view you should see a rally point tab. There you find the "Create new rally point" button.

With a selected rally point, you see in the rally point info panel (bottom left of the main screen) a "Move" button.

If you don't see this you have another problem.

This is exactly what I needed to know. I kept clicking on starports and bases and could not set one. 

Ill try this when I get home!

Still I do think the Drengin need a slight motivational buff. I would LOVE for them to come onto the scene and say, Hey, "Give me your lunch money or we are going to send a fleet and destroy your starports" and I would love even more a snappy reply like ' I'd like to see you try' with the end result ONLY being a decrease in how they like me with war not likely unless we are already hated and/or weaker in terms of military.

I used to play as if they were dangerous from the beginning, because i seem to remember Paul stating in one of the dev feeds that war like races (like the Drengin) would get to "Planetary invasion" a lot earlier (possibly during the age of expansion). However that never seems to have been the case and still isn't. If they would get an early "Planetary invasion" then that would more than compensate for their manufacturing/research weaknesses.

At the moment you can most of the time ignore them, because they are the weakest race in the game.

Is there a way to change the name of a waypoint.

Not yet, but Paul sort of promised in a dev feed that the naming convention would probably be changed (like depending on the nearest star name) or that the player would be able to name it.
