The combat dialog is not informative enough. It would be good if it would name the ship, whose space it is in (or neutral space) and what the nearest star (or other identifiable, perhaps searchable feature) is.
I am sure in the future viewing the combat, etc. is in the cards, but right now it is a total mystery.
