In case you haven't noticed (read: you live under a rock), all planets have new high-res textures....in general, these are absolutely gorgeous...
They only textures I'm not a fan off are the new terran and oceanic textures...sharing the words of another critic, they look like maps and come off as very fake...in my opinion, the core issue is the colorization....therefore, I have attempted to recolorize these two textures, hopefully for the better...
Below are some before/after screenshots...all screenshots were taken with the seconds Skybox...
For the terran, we have before....

and after...

For the oceanic, we have before...

and after...

If you are interested in this, I encourage you to actually look at the textures in game instead of just going by screenshots...you can download the mod here...I would greatly appreciate feedback, and if anyone has a better set of modifications do please share!
Methodology:
In general, I tried to enhance the contrast, make the water darker (deeper blue), and make the land more green...below is a detailed methodology in case anyone wants to replicate or tweak what I did...please note I used the latest version of GIMP for this...
With the entire texture selected...
- Contrast +40
- Hue +20 and Saturation +100
- Brightness (NOT Lightness) -125
- Brightness (NOT Lightness) -70
Afterwards, I did some specific tailoring just to the terran...
- Select only water (used Select:By Color, tolerance of 25)
- Brightness +30
And some specific tailoring just for the oceanic...
- Select all of texture
- Brightness +30
