Brought it on Steam and myself and others cannot even get through the tutorial without game becoming unresponsive.

$13.59 for FE (now) + $19.99 for LH (when it's out) = $33.58

$39.99 for FE with LH (when it's out). Which is $6.41 more.

p.s.  I have purchased every Stardock game which does not require Steam to activate *sigh* I miss the old days....

I have my own bias against Steam because there isn't much done to promote indie titles that aren't already hugely popular such as Super Meat Boy, Braid, or Bastion. Greenlight is a terrible system because things become a popularity contest. Not to mention the ignorant people who've forced this to happen simply because they won't buy a game unless it's on Steam. If you want a game bad enough (Minecraft, Starcraft 2, Guild Wars 2, any number of great indie games that aren't on Steam), then I don't see why you couldn't go ahead and buy it through Desura/Gamers Gate/direct.

But that isn't an issue for Fallen Enchantress. It's already on Steam and receives a fair amount of attention. Again, it's not Super Meat Boy, but it's noticed. The only reason I can see to dislike Steam is because you can't sell used games through it, but you can't do that with a DRM-free digital copy, either. Because I can't see any major problem with using Steam, I think perhaps you guys are more annoyed at Steam fanboys than Steam itself. In which case, I wouldn't blame you. 

@Star Adder:  How are you "getting the shaft"?  I was a pre-order through Impulse/SD, and have the maps from the map pack in my game without additional purchase.  So, where again do you feel shafted?  (If, in a stupor some night I purchased the map pack without realization or remembrance, I apologize for the misinformation).

@Soulmai: The FE community will have to go on without you, I guess.  You are missing a good game, for, IMO, not a good reason.  But, to each their own.  SD makes a lot more money by having the eyeballs of Steam users on their product than otherwise, I think.  But the telling sign is that they are not on GOG, and are moving solely to Steam for LH, so it must be beneficial to them.  Or, they discussed it and are trying to screw you over....

My friends (a lot of them) and me all use steam for games. NOT one program, and developers/publishers are responsive.

I never had a problem ith steam, online or offline, and most of people bitching about it DONT EVEN USE IT.

If anyone wants FE on steam, and he is "reserved" towards steam, I will buy it on this sale and give it.

If thats needed for you guys o understand STEAM DOESNT STEAL anything from you, doesn't kill your PC performance, doesnt do anything bad.

you dont need to like it, but its usefull for gamers, and especially developer/publishers. since there is no middle men like Derek or Brad posted ages ago.

I've used Steam for ages and I purchase a few new game every month. Never had any problems with Steam (although it's gotten a bit slow the past few months, not sure what that is all about) or the purchased software. People are being paranoid and spiteful for the sake of it.
