One of the events of the game that is a bit annoying is when AI awakens some high level creature (dragon, golem etc.) which then - for lack of other targets - goes for a happy rampage in your territory. I like to play with epic time speed, and there you will have literally hundreds of turns when you just cannot do anything with a dragon.
At the same time, it is too easy to loot their lairs - you just need to build an outpost and the contents are yours (of course, do it far away from your borders; Pariden anyone?)
So, I'd like a change. Let the mites, bandits and the like be easily excitable as they are now. But the high level creatures would not leave their lairs for any reason until some time (for example, until certain technology is discovered by someone). In the beginning they are sleeping (and you will get a message 'Some idiot dabbling with magic awakened the dragons from their slumber! Beware!'; for golems it might be something from the warfare tree etc.). However, you aren't allowed to build your cities and outposts within two (three?) tiles from a sleeping creature - people are just too afraid to settle there - you must (try to) get rid of the critters first...
