I am certain this has been addressed by this time, but just for the record, I've seen some pretty erratic behavior in events scheduling.
Example 1: I am building in a city and suddenly the I am interrupted by the turn changing.
Example 2: I am about to enter a fight and I am interrupted by an announcement of a city improvement.
The general trend when this misbehavior happens is that one event does not complete before another one jumps in and preempts it.
Playing through all the betas has been an entertaining experience. I am actually going to miss the variations on theme each beta provided.
