Sorry gang, we're looking at Late September.  Took a very long time to get the Kol models sorted out.

the big pity is that less than 500 have been pre-ordered to date when yarlen ordered 2600 kols.

it looks like yarlen will be surrounded by kols for quite a while.

I just hope that they do not declare yarlen to be an enemy and attack him.

I was told by someone who ordered it that they were told the game disk is included but it requires your purchasing account to activate on Steam.

For the record, for the model and all the extra items that come with this; I believe it is worth the money. Stardock is also selling us this package at cost which is very generous.

To clarify for LupusVir, I do not believe it comes with another activation key. You get a hard copy of the disc but not another activation key, this is why it needs your steam account linked to your digital purchase of the game to play. This is a Collector's Edition 'add-on (read: optional content)' purchase to enhance the digital copy of the game you have already purchased. The game DVD (without activation key) is for those that want a physical medium to reinstall the game from (rather than re-download everything off the wire again).

That all being said, if you set your Steam account to 'Offline Mode' on each computer and start Sins of a Solar Empire: Rebellion, you 'might' be able to play LAN.

I do know for a fact that if there are two or more unique accounts (one for each computer present on the LAN) and set them all to offline mode you can play LAN games locally without having to worry about cramming all that information out to the wire and then back again, it stays on the LAN and steam is not sucking up bandwidth.

Yarlen & crew or other forum members may be able to further explain how this works.

I have asked many times, but you still need Steam to run the game, even when it comes on the disk in the collector's edition.

you CAN, just that each computer NEEDS to be permitted to use the steam account , and only ONE computer at a time logs in to the steam account, BUT EACH computer NEEDS steam or rebellion does NOT WORK.

I can confirm that this works, as my family and I have one copy of Sins and we routinely play 3 human vs 7 ai.

The LAN play does not access whatever ICO needs from Steam, so you can play while offline. It's a bit of a pain setting up each computer with Steam then setting it to offline mode, but oh well. Makes me miss Impulse though!

And for those who are saying it costs too much: I agree, but I bought it anyways. I said I would, and I will. I will also purchase any and all CE for Sins:2 and anything else down the road (financial conditions permitting). For future reference though,  Stardock might want to find out how much people are willing to pay first. Or offer different set ups. I would gladly pay up to $30 for everything but the Kol model.  I think the Kol is where they overplayed their hand. I think if they offer a version without the Kol for however much less (plus less shipping!) their sales will skyrocket.
