Need help introducing new Faction Icons

So, I found the 'racelogos.tga' file and went, 'hey! I can edit this!' However; when I edit it and place it in a mod's 'texture' folder, they don't show up ingame... Do I have to do something special to them? I have attached my file, for reference's sake.

If you open the file and look at the bottom half of the page there are very faint, small versions of the icons. I think you just need to make your changes there and they should show up in the game.

ah, thanks. So what are the large ones used for, out of curiousity?

gah, is there an easy template for this or something? I can't get them to line up.

Not sure what the large ones are used for, probably something ingame, while the smaller ones are used for setting up the players.

 

Sorry can't help with a template, just trial and error. I tend to draw a box around the icon then when editing it stay within the lines of the box. 

I think if you have the game running then make changes, they appear immediately. This should make it easier to edit.

They are all used.

Large ones are gamestart racepick page.

Best to make 1 large one then make copies and scale them down.

Remember, these are greyscale which is replaced with teamcolour
