just to be clear, are your forces in an actual fleet (fleet leader gets the fleet icon, adds a new section to the empire tree)? a selection group (you press a number key to select several ships at once)? both? or neither (maybe just box selected them)?
All my ships that took part in this battle were in a fleet, all of those ships were manually bound to a control group. All those ships were selected during this engagement.
I see you played with the engagement range. Did you make sure autoattack was turned on? does this only occur under certain conditions (ie, only when a titan is present or something)?
I am not sure if the titan is a modifying factor in this, I will try it in the next engagement without the Titan. Auto-attack was on, and was set to (all auto-attacking)
I will explain the engagement below.
(Note: This is played on EASY AI at the moment. I always play every AI when I play on 5 star maps, and I progress up through the AI as I win one map after another. It's how I test the AI to see if they do smarter things on one setting then they do on another and to see when they stop doing idiotic things.)
My fleet consisted of the following ships:
1 Vorastra Class Titan - Level 2
1 Kortul Class Devastator - Level 4
1 Jarrasul Class Evacuator - Level 4
1 Skirantra Class Carrier - Level 4
1 Vulkoras Class Desolator - Level 4
3 Lasurak Transporter
12 Skarovas Enforcer
9 Serevun Overseer
20 Ravastra Skirmisher
11 Junsurak Sentinel
19 Kanrak Assailant
2 Stilakus Subverter
15 Tosurak Corvette
(Various Strikecraft)
Enemy Fleet consisted of 1 Titan and other ships, I didn't get a good count but I do know he had a titan (loyalist)
My fleet engaged from the left side of the map when they dropped out of phase. The enemy fleet consisting of a Titan and multiple other craft were on the opposite side of the planet itself, hugging up against it. I immediately was engaged by a non-upgraded Starbase which should have aggro'd the rest of his fleet, it didn't. The only thing that engaged my fleet was his strike craft which came from all over the gravity well to do so. The interesting part of this was the strike craft attached to his fleet itself engaged but the ships did not, they stayed back. At first I thought this was an AI thing in which maybe the AI didn't engage because they wanted me to come to them while the strike craft weakened me. My titan and Junsurak immediately began dealing with strike craft all around me while I slaughtered the starbase. I then let the AI do it's own thing.... which I saw was ignore the enemy fleet (which was quite sizeable) around the planet and engage everything else. I literally had to tell my fleet to move to engage (not attack move, but move towards them) for either of the fleets to notice each other. Prior to this I had a small engagement where I fought some of his cruisers and frigates in another gravity well. Even when I used the command for my ships to move up and attack they didn't.
My ships started to move forward to engage the building but then for some reason all fell back to (Reforming fleet). This has happened a lot and I am starting to wonder if the engagement range for the Vasari loyalists is messed up somehow.
