Second time this has happened to me, so I thought I'd mention it: a wolf token, activated by my sovereign, is a wolf, but named Sand Golem.
This is a known issue in one of my mods. You didn't perhaps forget to turn them off?
Unable to repro in the base game (thanks for the heads up heavenfall or I would have been digging for this).
