May be a bit late in the process, but this looks like a pretty good game.
I purchased Elemental some time back (Which I heard about only thanks to my bro who stumbled across it while looking up Master of Magic). Even then, I heard nothing of Fallen Enchantress until I happened to be digging around for my copy of Elemental again recently. Marketing needs a serious boot up the bum, in double time.
As far as free advertising is concerned (if it even is free), I would suggest picking on a variety of popular gaming sites, and magazines at least for starters, and have competitions to win free entry into the Beta. Even if it's a handful of winners in total, the gaming sites get some extra interest through them. You get some extra testers on board, and you get a lot of extra interest. If your competition entries happen to require you read some of a nice attractive review and pick out game facts, all the better. Only email address required to enter and keep me posted on game news are good options.
I hope marketing picks up - would be a real shame if what looks like a good game falls on an empty marketplace ;o)
