(BUG) Scouts clearing mine fields - does NOT work

I'm playing Rebellion online with a friend.

I've been to a few planetary systems where mines have been deployed. My scouts just sit & don't do anything to the mines. I have manually moved them to a cluster of mines so that the other ships in the fleet will destroy the mines (withing the scouts sensor radius), but nothing. I have to move my fleet through the mines and take damage!!

In Diplomacy, Entrenchment & SoaSE when mines are in the scouts sensor radius other ships will fire at mines. Also the scouts actively destroy the mines.

This is a known issue and Stardock is aware of it.

No wonder the mines never went away.

sure it does... take a scout, put it in a mine field and watch both blow up... repeat...

If the well is otherwise clear of enemies using your titan or a few caps seems to work better. Move them around a bit, collect mines, repair and restore shields, rinse and repeat. It doesn't cost you money and is more reliable than spending dozens of fleet points for units you'll blow up fifteen seconds later anyways.
