A friend and I started a game as allies going against 4 other AI who were not teamed. I was advent loyalists and my friend was advent rebels. We put 3 envoys on each others populated planets early to increase relationship as well as researched all the relationship boosting things.
My relationship with friend steadily rose the entire game and capped at 19 whereas my friends never made it past 12. It would get to 12 and drop suddenly to 9. Did that a few times.
Then at the end of the game it just dropped steadily and forced us to break off all treaties etc.
What causes this?
