I noticed that I was allowed to make phase lanes between stars, however this does nothing because you can travel to any star.

when playing tec rebel and going to the pirates screen and offer a mission the game crashes.

i left galaxy forge running and had 139 auto saves ....

 

Also please dont take offensive but i did prefer the old interface.

 

@ gundamit - teams  and spawn planets settings are all correct ye?

are you playing with AI teams that contracdict what you may have selected (if you set starting lccations/starting teams in your map)

The last 50 or so lines of the save data get cut off so any maps created with galaxy forge will not load. The cut off point seems random between maps (often cutting off in the middle of a line), but it remains consistent when repeated with the same map.

Sorry I forgot to check this post.

And yes, I am quite sure the config is correct, because that's what I use in the normal games with official maps.

I only skimmed through this thread so I'm sorry if this has been mentioned already.

I've been able to replicate one of the unhandled exception errors. If you accidently have a phase lane selected instead of a planet, and hold CTRL to create a new phase lane, you will be greeted with an exception error.

Unable to cast object of type 'GalaxyForge.GalaxyConnection' to 'GalaxyForge.GalaxyPosEntity'.

I have tried my problem this day several times.

It seems the map is OK, until I changed the ID or description. I will do more test tomorrow.

Yea I been looking to try this Galaxy Forge but for some reason it is greyed out to me.  So is the Vasori  playable race.

emplear & naroku, the galaxyforge for rebellion is in the rebellion program folder in a folder called (wait for it)

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

"GalaxyForge"

just run the galaxyforge.exe in the galaxyforge folder and you can see/experience the program and it's bugs

also at present in the BETA that you are playing the vasari are NOT enabled as we(the beta testers) are supposed to be balancing and testing the TEC & advent

What I am saying is I have not seen it in or under Sin or the impulse folder.

As for a rebellion folder I have not seen it under progam or program86 folders either.

the full path to the rebellion (on xp) is

'C:\Program Files\Steam\steamapps\common\sins of a solar empire rebellion'

note the "steam" is boiling the "steamapps" and "common" before it gets to rebellion.

should be the same path for x86 vista/win7 and for the 64bitters it should be

'C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\sins of a solar empire rebellion'.

Okay I have gone into the area that I put the regular Galaxy Forge creation. I did not find any thing that is a special beta version of Bata Galaxy forge.  I have looked all threw the Rebellion Files can not find it.

emplear, the new galaxyforge is INSIDE the galaxyforge folder inside the rebellion folder under the steam folder.

but  it would be nice for stardock to also supply a link (in steam or the start menu or desktop) to the galaxyforge exe or even a button on the rebellion menu, but that is probably asking to much of two tiny software companies to add to their large and complex game.

Im new using the Galaxy Forge and i have a question.. you know who in the game theres planet occupied by neutral  by a neutral colony and you need to bomb the planet. well i was wondering how to i make that to happen in Galaxy Forge, because no matter what i do the planet always appear empty just with a few rouge ships but no population.

what im doing is clicking on the planet to edit  it Use the "Local Terran Militia Template" (since is a terran planet) Then in group editor i put "If Planet owner is militia" then on Spawn This Items For i chose "Planet Owner" then chosse stuff like Gauss Defense and hangar defense and some ships.

 

and when i load the map and check the planet is always empty no Gauss defense or hangars or owner at all

so can anyone tell me what im doing wrong?

I usually add to the planet a colony frigate(this has the advantage of re-colonising after a novalith hit), the various ships I want to defend the well, and the defence structures wanted.

I am having issues where the maps i make are not showing up in any of the map selections in game. I have moved the map files from galaxy forge to the galaxy folder and still no good. and back. I also did a integrity check on my game files. They are fine. But still can't see the maps at all in game in under small/medium/large/custom/galaxyforge

 

Any info on this?

for rebellion the location has changed from

the old (vanilla,entrenchment,diplomacy location of the local app/ironclad/sins/galaxyforge)

to

 

'My Documents\My Games\Ironclad Games\Sins of a Solar Empire Rebellion\GalaxyForge'

if you are in the rebellion BETA you have already downloaded it (it is in the galaxyforge folder next to the sins rebellion exe.

I read a few other posts about having trouble with starting positions. I am in the same boat. I don't have any race specific starting positions. I have not changed anything from default as far as I know. Sometimes I get that starting position, but it isn't 100% of the time.

My GalaxyForge just insta-crashes on start, every time, no exceptions. This program has encountered a problem and needs to be closed, blah blah. Debug, Send Report, Don't Send. Don't have a real valid debugger on my computer though, and nor would I be able to glean anything from debugging.

dracoredux, have you tried fixed starting positions instead of randomized starting positions?
