Nice to see the Advent preview yesterday - one thing I would recommend:
After the Homing Mines got introduced in Entrenchment it seemed like the AI started preferring them for it's Aeria carriers, and it looked like it's still doing that. This makes one of the Advent's more powerful 'signature units' pretty lame. 4 Aeria carriers loaded with fighters and bombers gets my attention, but 4 Aeria carriers loaded with 'those little floaty things that escort it around and don't seem to do anything' makes me laugh and cry a little for the poor AI that spent over 5000 creds to build very large, expensive targets.
Maybe you can tone down the AI's preference to use them as minelayers to a 10% level or something like that? (or just have the AI 'forget' it has the option to use its carriers that way - I think it REALLY holds the AI back from utilizing what should be one of its most powerful units properly)
No wonder there was a schism in the Unity - once the tax payers found out their how the military budget was being spent
On the plus side, before the update got yanked, my fleets were split with the Titan and some supporting ships trying to cripple the AI TEC and its Novaliths/Anklyons and the main fleet (3 Caps and a medium size aupport group) trying to hold the other front vs the AI Advent or make some progress. The Advent (without a Titan) was able to push me back and mount assaults that forced a retreat at least twice with an impressive # of frigates and cruisers supported with a Capital ship. When all their LR ships lit up their beams in synch it looked like a laser light show
