I have always wondered why, when you preview a map, it almost always zooms your view way in to the nothingness of the skybox so that you have to scroll the camera out a ton to even see what your map looks like. The in-game designer has done this since the original Sins so it would be nice to have the preview loaded with the camera fitting the entire map to the screen already.
Also, on a side-note, does anyone else think it would be great for the in-game map designer to have a small, generic preview of the map you are creating that has simple 2D shapes and colors that change in real time as you adjust the map layout? This is not intended to replace the full preview, but it would be nice to see how the sliders, and adding/deleting planets etc. is affecting the layout of your map without going into the main preview just to see one or two tiny changes. I know this won't happen but I figured I would throw the idea out there since this is a beta.
