Update Planet visuals!

Sure this isn't that big of a deal to most and it certainly isn't valued over balance changes but come on. You've updated the textures to ships, skyboxes, and improved the lighting but there seems to be no change to the planets who happen to occupy most of the screen (aside from the skybox).

I would like to see them update the little buildings and ships which appear around a colonised planet also. At the moment the ships aren't even ships they look like 2d sprites which circle station to station.

I hope they do too, if only to match the fresh coat of paint the rest of the game has gotten.

This has been requested a lot in the past aswell, but the dev's stated that it is hardly possible due to the 2GB memory limit the game comes with...

There's alot you can do without doing something memory consuming like just upping the texture resolution. They could do what they did with the ships and improve the shaders and things like that.

In that case all we need is a 64-bit compliant version of the game. 64-bit is the mainstream now for gaming anyway.

Especially the Moon type planet has a very low texture at the moment (you could say it is really ugly ), even lower than the other playnet types. Though it might be possible, that the better texture just isn't inside the game yet.

 

64-bit would be nice to have indeed.

Honestly I personally don't care since I end up turning them off anyways.

Although new textures for each of the planets would be nice. However, more planetary sizes would be a good start. Perhaps new default planetary types is a also a good start, if devs need ideas look at the distant stars or any mod that has brand new planets.

Although this shouldn't be priority. Get the other races in first.
