Actually, it could be an awesome trait if you could contract the bandits you hire to harass another faction - similar to SoaSE. Lord knows they can be a pain in the ass for my faction and it would be refreshing if you could get them to bug somebody else for a change. What do you guys think about that idea?
This sound like an interesting idea, though as I previously stated, this sounds more like a overall mechanic or faction trait than a unit trait. Honestly, I think that this trait opens a fairly interesting door, which reminds me a lot of a mechanic I loved in Rome: TW. For those who did not play that game, in Rome:TW, general units could hire mercenary units in the field at a higher recruitment cost and a higher maintenance cost. While your more powerful core armies tended to be comprised of your faction's troops, many of your armies would have several of these troops to bolster the ranks, and in some cases, you could have entire mercenary armies. However, as far as Elemental is concerned, I wonder if it would not be more interesting to have some kind of bandit camps that one could recruit various types of bandits that scale in relation to your current tech levels.
