Fighter Squad size

I want to increase my squad size, and I have some questions:

 

1. Is there a limit to the number of fighters in a squad?

2. I have tried changing the baseMaxNumfighters in squadxxxxcombat.entity with no result.  What am I doing wrong?  I have tried both as text file and compressed with no luck.

Yes it is possible.

First, the screen icons will only show 3 no matter how many are actually in the squad. You need to click on the squad and check the info card pop up to see the actual number of strike craft.

Have you ever made a mod before? There are a few simple mistakes made by novices. Here the modding basics page.

Use the developer exes and make sure you are using up to date reference files.
