This is kind of a pointless topic.

Both mods are good because they both have their own unique strengths and weakness's Some say SoA 2 plays better than most "professional" trek games. While Distant Stars is a graphic enhancement mod that adds to Sins itself.

There is not one better than the other. They have different things they bring to table. Its like comparing apples to potatoes.

SoA 2 is an awesome conversion mod. Meaning if you like Trek you love it. They put alot of hard work into making a great mod.

DS is what we call a Enchantment mod. Meaning if you like the basic game play found in the non modded game then you like this mod also. We added graphics, new planets, new units, changed the research, etc etc etc.

With either mod you find it hard to go back to non modded SINS. I say play both.
