Minidump in Sins of a galactic Empire 1.0E

Hi there,

I have a problem with SOGE 1.0E. I was playing this mod first time and after a while it begun to minidump. I have read that there could be a linking to the executor class. Well, I tried different things with building the Executor and without. It doesn´t matter. On my Impression the game crashes on the same point. Is there anyone who has an idea whats going on with this fine mod or can read these minidump saves?

you should really post this in the mod thread, though I do see something that might cause a problem... you got 1 gig of ram... what graphics setting do you use in the game?

 

two possible causes of the crash are, graphics settings are too high and your reaching a RAM cap which causes sins to crash

Yes, know there is only few RAM, sadly one the the RAM sockets is defect, but i do play on lowest settings. Additionally I´m using a high speed USB-Stick as "external RAM". But i don´t think that is a problem. If I play the origin game or Entrenchment there is no minidump, I never got one. So, it must be a problem with the mod. I searched in several forums but I did not find post describing my observations.

Go to task manager, close all programs you dont need, and set Sins to real time priority. Dont forget to lower AA settings and you might need to keep your games in the 25 - 30 planet range.

I do not think, that will help because the non-modded game is running very stable even at huge maps. AA is switched out. Oh...I am looking forward when I get a new PC in a few months. Are there known mismatches between Sins Trinity and the mods? Or does SOGE need more System recources than the original Game? Maybe there have been some mistakes in installation. So maybe an uninstall with ccleaner and  following reinstall will help.

Im sure it will be your RAM as you get further into the game with more stuff (planets,ships,fighters etc) there just isn't enough ram to cover it all, as SOGE has more ships etc than vanilla sins.

OK, so I have to wait till getting a better system and for now I will use vanilla. Then I will try it again. Thanks for the Help.

I do not think ram is the issue I have 4 gig but am having the same problem. I can play the normal unmodded version of entrenchment on full specs no problems but with SOGE I have played several games and it always ends up with the same mini dump issue I have looked all over the net and see no real solutions to this problem although fingers have been pointed at a couple of ships causing this issue I have tried playing the game with race that said ship?ships belong to removed entirely and it still ends up with the same issue I hope someone can help because other than this problem this mod is amazing no problems and runs so verry smooth

There's a SoGE thread... Should have checked that out before doing a necro-bump. As mindumps have been addressed in that thread multiple times.
